Privacy Policy
Effective September 12, 2026
Sideline Cast is a Chrome browser extension that keeps your ESPN Fantasy Football matchup visible and helps route you to supported live-game broadcasts. This policy explains what information Sideline Cast handles, how that information is used, and when information may be shared.
How Sideline Cast works
Sideline Cast does not currently operate its own application backend, user-account database, analytics service, or advertising system. The extension runs in your browser and uses your existing ESPN sign-in to request the fantasy and live-game information needed to provide its features.
Information Sideline Cast handles
- ESPN authentication information. Sideline Cast may read existing ESPN authentication cookies when needed to make authenticated requests to ESPN. The extension does not ask you to provide your ESPN password.
- ESPN Fantasy and live-game information. Sideline Cast receives information from ESPN needed to display your fantasy matchup and understand live game state, such as league, team, matchup, player, score, schedule, and game-status information.
- Supported-site and tab information. When needed for broadcast routing, Sideline Cast may inspect or interact with tabs and URLs on supported TV-provider sites to determine whether a supported destination is already open and to navigate you to the selected broadcast. Sideline Cast does not collect or maintain a general history of the websites you browse.
- Saved preferences. Preferences such as your selected fantasy team, TV-provider selection, and dynamic-switch setting are stored using Chrome storage. Chrome may synchronize values stored in Chrome Sync through your Google/Chrome account when Chrome Sync is enabled.
- Feedback and support information. If you choose Feedback / Bug Report or Support, Sideline Cast opens your default email application with a draft message. If you choose to send that email, the developer receives the information you voluntarily include in the message, your sending email address, and any diagnostic details included in the draft. Nothing is sent through this feature unless you choose to send the email.
How information is used
Sideline Cast uses the information described above only to provide and improve its user-facing features, including displaying fantasy matchup information, determining relevant live-game state, remembering your settings, routing you to supported broadcasts, and responding to feedback or support requests that you initiate.
Sharing and disclosure
Sideline Cast does not sell user data and does not use user data for personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising. Sideline Cast does not send your ESPN credentials or ESPN Fantasy data to the developer.
Requests necessary to provide Sideline Cast features are made to ESPN and, when you choose or use broadcast-routing functionality, to the supported TV-provider sites involved in that functionality. Those third-party services process requests under their own terms and privacy policies.
Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect against fraud, abuse, or security threats.
Data storage and retention
Sideline Cast does not currently maintain a server-side database of your ESPN Fantasy data. Extension preferences remain in Chrome storage until they are changed, cleared, or removed with the extension, subject to Chrome's own synchronization behavior. Feedback or support emails that you voluntarily send are handled through your email provider and the developer's email provider.
Security
Sideline Cast uses HTTPS for network requests to supported ESPN and TV-provider services. The extension is designed to request only the permissions and website access necessary for its current features.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Sideline Cast's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. User data is used only to provide or improve Sideline Cast's user-facing features and is not used for advertising or other unrelated purposes.
Third-party services
ESPN, the NFL, YouTube TV, Amazon/Prime Video, DIRECTV, Google/Chrome, and other third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices. Sideline Cast does not control those services or their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Sideline Cast changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
